This Privacy Policy explains what information Zoomaa (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Zoomaa app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Zoomaa you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following to let you book and travel:
- Account details — your name, email address and phone number.
- Trip information — the routes, dates, seats and operators you book.
- Payment information — we use third-party Mobile Money providers and a payment gateway to process payments. Card details are tokenised by the gateway; Zoomaa does not store your raw card number.
- Device & location data — device identifiers and, with your permission, location, used to power live bus tracking and arrival notifications.
- Support messages — the content of messages you send us in-app, by email or through this site.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and process your bookings and payments.
- To issue your QR ticket and show live tracking for your trip.
- To send booking confirmations, departure and arrival nudges.
- To provide customer support and respond to your messages.
- To keep the platform secure and prevent fraud.
- To improve our service and, where permitted, send updates.
3. How we share information
We share data only as needed to provide the service:
- Transport operators receive the booking details required to carry you (e.g. name, seat, trip).
- Payment processors & Mobile Money providers process your payment securely.
- Service providers (e.g. maps, hosting, messaging) act on our behalf under contract.
- Legal — where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
5. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at support@zoomaa.app.
6. Children
Zoomaa is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and tokenisation of card details by our payment gateway. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
